President

The President of the Chamber has the following powers, authorizations and responsibilities:

• directs, leads and organizes the work and is responsible for the legality of the Chamber’s operations;
• represents the Chamber and accepts all official documents or notices on its behalf. He/she is responsible for informing the relevant administrative authorities about any changes in the Chamber;
• represents the Chamber to third parties, for economic, financial and programmatic issues having a general effect in the field of mediation;
• signs on behalf of the Chamber, within limits set by law, the statute and decisions of the Board and/or the Assembly;
• implements the Chamber's work plan approved by the Assembly;
• lobbies for issues of particular importance for the field of mediation;
• plays an active role in representing and promoting the interests of the field of mediation towards the state institutions of the Republic of Kosovo as well as other local and international institutions working the field of mediation;
• takes an active part in informing the public through written and electronic media about mediation;
• appoints the administrative personnel in the Chamber after approval by the Board, if any;
• proposes the draft regulations and other acts relevant to the operations of the Chamber, which the Board approves, draws up the draft budget of the Chamber and presents it for Board review and Assembly approval;
• controls and supervises the administration of expenses within the budget limits of the Chamber approved by the Assembly;
• prepares the annual report focusing on the Chamber's activities;
• prepares the Chamber's annual financial report;
• representants or authorizes the Chamber's employees within their powers for representation in the processes of a financial, legal and administrative functioning of the Chamber's daily activity;
• participates in the Assembly and Chamber's meetings, in the latter without a voting right;
• directs the executive structure and performs all tasks defined by the statute;
• decides, per its competences, the smooth running of the Chamber's affairs;
• initiates and gives proposals for the realization of the Chamber's goals in cooperation with the Board;
• leads the procedure of the solemn oath;
• allows payments from the Chamber's budget up to the limits set by the Board and decides on expenditures;
• for the achievement of the annual work plan, forms working groups and assigns the themes of their work, for which it also notifies the Board;
• performs other work in accordance with the statute and other normative acts, linking the daily activities of the Chamber as defined;
• performs other tasks as assigned by the Assembly and/or the Board.

The Chamber's President is accountable for its work and reports to the Board and Assembly.

The President's Chamber must have high professional ethics, honesty, and dedication to the work and tasks of the Chamber. It is expected for them to be vigilant and perform all duties, authorizations and responsibilities in good faith and loyally, to make decisions in full trust it is acting to the most reasonable extent in the best interest of the Chamber and its members of the Assembly and be attentive to their responsibilities. They must avoid any conflict of interest and, in such a case, abstain from decision-making and declare this to the Board.
